Birdwings {poem}

Your grief for what you’ve lost lifts a mirror
up to where you’re bravely working.

Expecting the worst, you look, and instead,
here’s the joyful face you’ve been wanting to see.

Your hand opens and closes and opens and closes.
if it were always a fist or always stretched open,
you would be paralyzed.

Your deepest presence is in every small contracting
and expanding,
The two as beautifully balanced and coordinated
as birdwings.

Doing yoga while studying psychology and mind-body medicine

In my pursuit of academic and philosophical knowledge on western psychology and mind body studies from around the globe, I've studied transpersonal psychology, eastern theory, advaita vedanta, buddhism, contemplative psychology, jungian psychology, spiritual counseling, participatory spirituality, holistic health, where western psychology meets yoga healing (psychological, spiritual, physical), yoga for grief relief, and healing the total body (where western anatomy meets eastern spiritual science).

I specialize in holistic healing through somatic, psychological and spiritual means, in particular emotional traumas that remain held in the body both in the physical form and subtle body. I mix poetics into my way of seeing the world, especially in dealing with grief and anxiety. My goal is learning how to increase overall wellbeing through alternative health.

In summary, I've sought after the balance between the physiology of the body and the psychology of the mind. I mix these teaching into my yoga classes, but for an in-depth look at yourself through this lens, consider Be you, creative™, my latest offering.
