Essential oils for soul: Weekly scents and remedies, week ten
Well, I got to the Happiness post a little later than I thought. I mentioned it at the culmination of my third post on anger management, promising to discuss the ingredients of one of my favorite blends, Cheer™ (Uplifting Blend). Here I am again, weeks later.
path to happiness
Why such a sidetrack? There is a lot that gets in the way of happiness. I have a tendency to see toward the end result when I'm speaking, thinking, writing, and see that I did it here too. But reality is different. The realistic truth is that each of these facets of the psyche, mind, heart, soul matter and you need to be in tune with them before you can reach a state of happiness.
My series segued through pain management first because without soothing, we are always focused on pain. Next was skincare but the true driving force behind this is worry about ailments and loss of youth that could take the place of joy. Then there is calming anxiety; if you are happy but still anxious—even about being happy, is this really authentic? I think no. Next, I moved on to the health of your body and the power of hydration and alkalinity. True happiness cannot exist without health. Thriving within yourself using the gifts you are meant to use and pass along to others can only be touched through focus. Finally, living with your genuine, relaxed and smooth breath—the aim of yoga—is life-giving and life-changing.
euphoric sensations
And not that this is an exhaustive list on the path to happiness, but this is part of my experience. So, back to my promise to discuss the ingredients of the Cheer™ blend by doTERRA. Its scent reminds me of that euphoric sensation while I'm sipping the first half of a glass of red wine. This blend is not meant to be taken orally; it's to be diffused or applied topically.
The ingredients (including their botanical names):
Wild Orange (citrus sinensis) is the oil of abundance which addresses a wide variety of emotional issues. It inspires abundance by helping to let go of the scarcity mindset, fosters creativity, supports positivity, restores physical energy and aids in transitions. It reminds the soul of the limitless solutions for any problem and to live from true authenticity and humor is to be abundant.
Clove (eugenia caryophyllata) is the oil of boundaries which promotes letting go of victim mentalities. It has an energizing aroma that helps create a feeling of protection and courage to stand up for oneself and be proactive. It reconnects with personal integrity, reigniting the inner soul fire.
Star Anise (Illicium verum) has an aroma that is energizing and promotes feelings of euphoria.
Lemon Myrtle (backhousia citriodora) has calming, sedative properties and has an elevating, refreshing aroma.
Nutmeg (myristica fragrans) is often used to help increase energy and to support the nervous system from feelings of fatigue.
Vanilla (vanilla planifolia) is calming and balancing and may help ease tension.
Ginger (zingiber officinale) is the oil of empowerment and has powerful persusion. It invites the individual to be fully present to participate in life. It infuses responsibilty and creation with its stimulating, warming influence. Its aroma influences physical energy and love.
Cinnamon (cinnamomum zeylanicum) is the oil of sexual harmony. It has warming, stimulating properties that relieve depression.
Zdravetz (bulgarian geranium) is a variety of geranium found in Bulgaria, with calming and relaxing properties.
stay grounded all day long
Once you're happy, remaining grounded in that is important so that you don't need a continuous flow of cheer in order to feel great. Balance® (Grounding Blend) balances emotions by harmonizing physiologically including the right and left hemispheres of the brain. Ingredients include:
Spruce grounds the body the ability to receive and to give, and also release emotional blocks. It's capable of dialating the bronchial tract which improves oxygen exchange.
Ho Wood creates peacefulness within the mind and body.
Blue Tansy cleanses the liver and calms the lymphatic system, which alleviates anger while promoting self-control.
Frankincense contains sesquiterpenes which oxygenate the pineal and pituitary glands.
German Blue Chamomile soothes the muscles and joints, easing nervous tension.
oxygenate system while sleeping
Fractionated coconut oil acts as the carrier oil in this blend. Since this blend becomes a bit of a sedative to me, I apply to the bottoms of my feet and to my heart area before bed to allow it to oxygenate my system while I sleep.
Cheers...
